Fully opening or closing a line with minimal flow restriction, these brass gate valves raise and lower an internal wedge gate to give a straight-through, full-bore path when open and a positive shutoff when closed. Turned by a handwheel through several turns, a gate valve is built for isolation -- fully open or fully closed -- rather than throttling, and when open it adds almost no resistance to flow, which suits mains, risers, and branch lines where a low pressure drop matters. They come with copper sweat (CxC) ends that solder into copper pipe or threaded iron-pipe-size (IPS) ends for steel and brass pipe, in sizes from 1/2" to 2". Durable brass construction makes them a long-service choice for isolating sections of a water system for maintenance.
Key Features:
- Full-Bore, Low Restriction -- An internal gate lifts clear for a straight-through path that barely restricts flow when open.
- Positive Isolation Shutoff -- Closes the gate fully for a tight shutoff; built for isolation, not throttling.
- Handwheel Operation -- A multi-turn handwheel opens and closes the gate gradually.
- Sweat or Threaded -- Copper sweat (CxC) ends to solder, or threaded IPS ends for steel and brass pipe.
- Sizes 1/2" to 2" -- A range of sizes for mains, risers, and branch lines.
Where to Use:
- Line isolation -- Fully opening or shutting off mains, risers, and branch lines for service.
- Plumbing & mechanical -- Low-restriction isolation on water and service piping.
- Service & repair -- Shutting off a section of the system for maintenance.
